Bettina Bereś

I was raised at a kitchen table, painted in orange and black stripes, about 3 cm wide, where a never-ending discussion about art, avant-guarde and the highest values took place. I did not become a historian or an art critic, but I co-created two galleries: Zderzak and Otwarta Pracownia. I am a visual artist, a painter, an embroidery maker. I cook, clean, cultivate my garden, I raised two children and take care of dogs. I’ve done many individual exhibitions. One of the first was entitled “Images in the times of cholera” and the last “Memories of memories”. In 2015, I founded Wypożyczalnia Obrazów (Picture Rental), which aims to popularize the hanging of paintings on walls without involving financial resources. I have lived my entire life in Krakow.
