Sławomir Marzec

Born in 1962, visual artist, painter, maker of installations, performer, teacher, writer, art critic and theoretician. He practices abstract painting, reminiscing of neo-expressionism, drawing, sculpture, processed photography and film. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Since 1988 he works as a teacher at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, currently leading the Painting Studio at Graphics Department; from 2013 he is also a professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. He has prepared about 70 individual exhibitions (including the Art Promotion Centre – City Art Gallery in Łódź, Foksal Gallery, CCA Ujazdowski Castle), publishes texts on art (magazines, including “Art Inquiry”, “NY Arts Magazine “,” circuit “), is the author of books on the borderline of art theory and criticism (including” The Art of Poland 1993-2014. ArtHome versus Artworld “).
