Tomasz Sikora

Tomasz Sikora (PL) born 1948. In his twenties he travelled to Paris where he took seriously to photography. After coming back to Poland, between 1972- 82 he worked as a photojournalist for Warsaw’s illustrated weekly “Perspektywy”. He also cooperated with major Polish graphic designers in creating film and theatre posters. Between 1978-79 Sikora realized together with graphic artist Marcin Mroszczak the best known series of black-and-white photographies coloured with airbrush, “Alice in Wonderland”, which were a forerunner of staged photography. In 1982 he migrated to Australia where he conducted workshops in photography at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. Then he establishes a studio of advertising photography, he published books and calendars. Author of several individual exhibitions around the world and 65 author’s books.  He has been frequently awarded, was selected twice the Advertising Photographer of the Year in Australia. Author of international advertising campaigns for Sheraton Hotel, Intercontinental, Singapore Airlines, Reebok. In 2002, together with Andrzej Świetlik, Tomek Sikora created Homeless Gallery which promotes independent photography in many countries.
