Bill Gould

Bill Gould is an artist and architect living in the San Francisco Bay Area.  He has more than 25 years of experience in designing institutional buildings, public places and art. He lived for 2 years in Lublin (since autumn 1984) where his wife was a lecturer at Maria Curie Skłodowska-University. He claims that this experience was both wonderful and challenging, but created a lifelong link for them with Poland and particularly the Lublin Region. He works in many mediums including steel, cable, glass, concrete, ceramic, found objects and recycled materials. His sculptures are inspired by physical, community and historical context and the proportions and forms found in nature. Much of his work comprises of site installation pieces with a strong emphasis on large scale collaborative public art.
Most of his work takes the form of sculpture and in many cases these are larger than life representations of elements found in nature.  He has worked with the City of San Jose on multiple art projects as well as the cities of Campbell, Milpitas, Emeryville and Dublin on their “Art in the Parks or Along the Avenue” programs. In addition, he has worked with over fifteen schools to incorporate collaborative public art into their campuses. What us more, he is the founder and president of Artik Art & Architecture.
