Grzegorz Drozd

Grzegorz Drozd (born 1970) – actions and installations artist, painter, photographer. In the years 1992-1995 he studied at the Faculty of Arts at MCSU in Lublin. He graduated from the Faculty of Painting and Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2007. Since 2003, he co-creates together with Alicja Łukasiak the project “Zmiana Organizacji Ruchu” (ZOR). A watchful observer of reality, which he describes with his own language, building inconvenient and surprising situations, often without a script. Playing with convention and ritual, taking art out of the brackets of conception. A manipulator, declaring on his own account: “an artist for me is a social outlaw and a criminal.” A relational, participatory creator, author of works that are a vehicle of personal emotions. In 2010, he symbolically “left” the culture of the west, directing his nomadic journey towards the far south of Asia, searching for the “Lost Paradise”. Since then he has been moving in a “culturally open” space.
