Anna Waszczuk and Maria Polakowska – Prokopiak

Anna Waszczuk

Anna Waszczuk is a graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (MCSU) in Lublin – diploma in painting from the studio of prof. Mieczysław Herman in 1982. Since 1989 she is employed at the Artistic Department of MCSU. In 2007 she completed the first grade qualifying Ph.D. studies in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, while in 2009 she initiated her postdoctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. Currently is working as an assistant professor at the Painting Faculty of MCSU Artistic Department’s Institute of Fine Arts. Together with Maria Polakowska-Prokopiak she runs author’s studio EkoArt at the Artistic Department’s Institute of Fine Arts. Her work comprises of painting, paper art, wicker art and landart.

Maria Polakowska – Prokopiak
Maria Polakowska-Prokopiak graduated from the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Art and Design in Wrocław. She received the Minister of Culture and Art’s award for her degree with honours in the painting studio of prof. Zbigniew Karpiński. She holds a post of second grade assistant professor in the Painting Faculty at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University’s Artistic Department. She is the author of over 20 individual exhibitions, as well as took part in over 100 collective exhibitions. The list of her individual exhibitions (1984 -2009) includes places such as i.a. in: Bureau of Artistic Exhibitions Krosno, Berlin-Galeria Roho, Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec, Bureau of Artistic Exhibitions Lublin, Bureau of Artistic Exhibitions Rzeszów, Cracow – Labyrinth Gallery, International Drawing Triennial – Wrocław, Wilanów Poster Museum, Polish Institute in Stockholm, International Biennial of Miniature Art, International Biennnial Pastel Exhibition – Warsaw – Zapiecek Gallery, Cracow – Bunkier Sztuki. She took part in numerous international and national plain air painting workshops.
