Pinhole photography – a technique of taking photos with the use of a camera obscura-type camera. The camera-box constructed by Marcin Moszyński refers in its idea to two very significant cultural traditions: the tradition and the movement of pinhole photography, whose roots date back to the beginnings of civilization (camera obscura) and refers to the traditional, and currently again valued, handmade crafts. Pinhole photography is a photography without the lens. The lens is substituted by a small hole. Light passes through it and an image is created in the camera. Pinhole camera are used for playing, in art and science.
